Description

Breath-taking setting. Majestic architecture. Fascinating exhibitions. Welcome to Canada’s national museum of history, exploring this country’s rich cultural heritage, including the outstanding achievements of First Peoples. Visit the Canadian History Hall, our signature exhibition, where evidence of the past tells a tale as vast and varied as the land itself. Occupying more than 40,000 sq ft, the Hall traces Canada’s history from the dawn of human habitation to the present day. Explore Canada’s history through the diverse experiences and perspectives of the real people who lived it. Discover our collective story of conflict, struggle and loss, as well as success, achievement and hope. This new signature exhibition illuminates the enduring legacy of Canada’s past — a legacy that is alive, relevant and continually unfolding.

The Museum features world-class special exhibitions, the very popular Children's Museum and CINE+.

There was room to move freely. The explanations beside exhibits were clearly written and visible at a reasonable distance. The movie was excellent viewing - informative and well-filmed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The beauty of the structure and the vistas added to the overall delight of the interior. We spent five hours and would have returned if we had the time. The food in the Panorama Cafe was very good.

It was so informative and beautifully set up. Be warned that it takes much longer to go through than you expect it will.
