I expected better

Pros: close to gondola
Cons: No free Internet, broken pull out bed, missing dvd player, uncomfortable pull out bed, not clean, balcony not available, staff not helpful, expensive parking
I booked my room about 10 weeks ahead of my vacation hoping to get a good deal and good room. A friend of mine decided to join and booked his room less than a week before the trip and got much better room for about the same cost. My room was quite narrow and difficult to get around in, and not clean. There was no DVD player, the pull out bed (that was also the table) was kind of broken and put together mickey mouse style. The staff did the bare minimum and not very helpful when I asked about internet access. The balcony was not available. Its door was locked with a note on it stating it was under repair, but we did not see anyone working.

Great price, close to lifts

Pros: Close restaurants, lifts
Cons: No free Internet
We stayed in a nice loft suite with a kitchen. It was recently remodelled and seemed very clean. The furniture and kitchen seemed to all be in good condition and the bathroom was very new and fresh looking. Extremely close to the lifts, shops and the heart of Whistler. Also very reasonably priced. The pullout couches were a little uncomfortable, but they often are. Overall we were happy with the stay although the parking lot was low and our minivan did not fit with the Thule on top. Internet fee was rather high, though.

Decent hotel and nice staff. Worth what we paid.

Pros: The location and cost. The staff was nice. The kitchen was adequately supplied.
Cons: The carpet in our room needed to be cleaned or at least vacuumed. There was an odd smell to the room, like bacon and beer. Check out instructions.
Location: Close to the center of the village and Blackcomb. Starbucks nearby. Everything in the village is pretty close.
The check in process was easy and the staff was nice and helpful. The room was a little dated and showed some wear but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. It did smell like maple syrup and maybe beer which was tolerable. The carpets could use some cleaning. The queen bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were clean. It was nice to have the murphy bed and twin size sofa bed so that each child could have their own bed. The kitchenette was tiny but we only used it to cook breakfast so it was adequate. The non stick pans should be replaced. It would be nice to have check out instructions. It was nice to have coffee and tea available in the lobby. The location is good. The price for parking is in the mid range for Whistler and was safe.

Great Location, pool was closed though

Pros: Like the murphy bed idea gave the kids more room to play when we were in the room.
Cons: Flooring and furniture
Location: Close to lifts and and everthing
Great Location, friendly staff. Disspointed the pool was closed for repairs but they had a large hot tub at least

I would only recommend this hotel if you were on a tight budget.

Pros: Close restaurants, close to lifts
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast, old rooms
The check in process was somewhat a struggle since no one was at the front desk. The rooms are set up like military modules. Although each room has there own door, but each room shares a main door with another room (I guess double the security). The rooms have a floor heater that can be adjusted by a wall thermometer. The room were to hot or to cold. The walls and ceiling must be very thin. You could hear everything going on above and adjacent to your room. The beds were standard spring mattresses. Bathrooms were standard. The hotel is in a very good location. Close to the lifts and village. Again, great for a budget trip. No Free Wifi.

Convenient location, close to the walking mall, gondola, bus stops

Great location but still reasonably priced. Right next to the walking mall, stores and resturants but not on the mall so don't get the constant noise. Short walk to gondola and bus stops to lakes and other parts of Whistler. Underground parking. Room was typical ski condo with interior halls, decent hot tub, not much else. I would definitely go back here because of the convenient location and price.

Stayed Jun 2010, 2 nights

I stayed at the Powder Lodge. The hotel staff was quaint but I was highly disappointed by the lack of a real bed in the room. I booked a room with a queen size bed (supposedly), but ended up getting a room with two pull out beds (both were uncomfortable and required set-up). I was not offered alternatives. I paid an insanely low price ($*/night) for the room but other hotels were also offering competitive prices with real beds. The room was clean and there was a kitchen. Hallways were dark. Excellent location, within walking distance to most activities. Ok, if you just need a place to crash.
