"South Gap was a great great GREAT stay. I came for a quick 3-day trip with one of my friends, and from start, to finish, this was an amazing stay. It's not a super fancy hotel, but it has the basics. A guard at the front door, nice front desk staff, a pool, and solid rooms. The rooms have double closets, a full-length mirror, a large fridge, microwave, hotplate, sink , with dishes and knives and forks and cutting boards which was so cool and unexpected, and a beautiful view of the ocean from a nice sized deck. The staff was really really nice! ( All except one guy - John, but maybe he was having a bad day. ) They were always willing to give great restaurant recommendations, and the bar staff at the pool made us a variety of drinks that weren't even on the menu and would sit down and chat with us at the end of the day. I will most definitely stay here again. Also, it's in a great location in South Gap. You're right across from a large selection of bars and restaurants and about a 5-minute walk from Dover beach. You can jump on a reggae van from this area too and take it to Brownes beach which costs about $3 Barbados which is about $1.50 USD and just taxi back. Taxis ran about 25 - 30 Barbados which is about $12-15 USD. If you want to be in a nice local area this is the spot for you! "

"Lovely hotel. We had an incredible swim-up room. The main pool was still out of action - however positioned so that it seemed as if we had our own private pool and verandha. We couldn’t have asked for better. The staff were wonderful and gave us an automatic discount each night as the main pool was being maintained. This is the best hotel on the that stretch of the coastline (bar Sandy Lane!). Easy to walk into Holetown along the beach."

"We appreciated Bougainvillea was quaint and boutique style, providing us with easy access to the beach, pools, restaurant and bar. ALL the staff were approachable, friendly and helpful. The owners should give every single worker a ton praise and raises for how welcoming and hardworking they all are...really made our trip. The food was really good at Calabash, reasonably priced, and everyone made us feel welcome. Yes you should make reservations, but we just walked up to the hostess and she always took care of us. Like the option to eat at the tables outside the restaurant area under the trees and more casually. Loved having the kitchenette to be able to make coffee and prepare light meals - lots of grocery stores closeby. "
