It's an older property, no air conditioning. I opened a window and turned on the fan to cool the room and discovered the radiators were on, so I turned them off. Much better. Staff are great, but make sure you know if you're getting a room with a bathroom or sharing toilets and showers in the hall. The bar and grill next door is owned by the same folks, but you can't enter from inside the hotel, nor is there room service. Not the best area of town, but it is close to everything. $150 per night was expensive for what I received, but I got much more than I expected since it's downtown San Francisco and it was during a convention. It's just a very expensive area. Bed was very comfortable. Water pressure was great. Despite what I've read in other reviews, I never waited more than a few seconds for the elevator. Any future business trips to SF--or even a getaway weekend--I'd certainly consider staying here again. Word of warning: Parking is $57/night. If you're coming to SF, don't bother with a rental--transit's just easier and you WILL get parking tickets.

The marriot workers were striking loudly across the street. When I reported this to the staff, all they said was that a lot of guests were complaining. While they were very nice and helpful, they seemed unable to do anything to compensate me for the inconvenience. No attempt to switch rooms. The shower hot cold switch was installed backwards so setting it for hot water produced only cold (Room 520). This must be permanent state, but I was never informed of it. The staff did come up and show me how to do it, But they made attempt to inform me in advance. The breakfast consisted of only coffee and some small muffins.

Tasteful

Some clever design details make these small rooms work. They did a nice job modernizing this post-quake victorian.

Great Location

Pros: Within reasonable distance to major tourists attractions.
Cons: Make shared restrooms a bit bigger.
Location: Suggest going to Fisherman's wharf, visiting Golden Gate Bridge.
Rooms are a bit small but overall comfortable beds, nice continental breakfast offered, and staff was amazing! (Let us borrow computer and printer and answered any questions we had regarding the area). Only down fall was having to share a restroom/shower with others, but private bathrooms also offered depending on room. Access to subway, bus, trolly, etc less than 5 min walk, mall and theater nearby. Took us about 30 mins to get to major areas and a nice bar next door. If you're looking for something cozy and don't mind taking public transportation I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

Great hotel close to main streets

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was nice at all times and willing to answer any questions we had. Hotel was within a 2 min walk from the Main Streets accessible to various tourists locations. Buses, cable cars and train run right by hotel.

Very quaint comfortable Victorian hotel.

Pros: cleanliness and ambiance, friendly staff
Cons: would like access to coffee and tea, in room or lobby most of the time, not just 6:00 - 9:00 am. add non skid to bath tub. more Sunday news papers,
Rooms are small, but that adds to the charm. Plenty of room for sleeping and showering. One of the cleanest hotels I have been in in a long while. It was a delightful 6 days. Very close to much fun shopping, and cable car and street cars. Though it is not this hotel's problem, it would be even better if the city of San Fransisco would take care of the mentally ill, and clean up Mission Street.

Surprised!

Pros: It was clean and friendly staff. The area to us was comfortable to be staying in.
Cons: None really
In reviewing this hotel before booking it was pretty mixed but the most important information to me was if the area was some what safe/comfortable to be walking around in. It was a very comfortable area to be out late walking around in. I won't say safe but there was barely/if at all any drifters on the street. The room is small but in my opinion its SF everywhere is cramped! My husband and I found it be cozy and perfect. We had our own bathroom (make sure you select the room that doesn't include the wording "Shared Bathroom" and you will have your own). The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had gone to a play at the Orpheum and then to a Giants game. The location was perfect for walking to both activities. The bar next store is AMAZING! I highly recommend checking it out. We plan to stay at The Mosser again on our next visit to the city!
