This was our 2nd trip here. We upgraded to the Premium Level which was worth every single penny. Having easy access to Wi-Fi when it was needed was fantastic. The Premium Level suite was also a nice escape from the larger, busier bars. You could probably say the rooms could be upgraded, but they were clean, spacious and fully functional. Our view of the ocean was spectacular. The beach is I think the best of the resorts in the area. I felt that the staff was actually friendlier this time and I thought better at communicating in English. The food is the only thing that I find needing some improvement. It might just be that I don't understand DR approach to food but there were meals that were awful. As a return guest we got to attend a special dinner which was the best food of anyplace we ate - they should extend some of that food to the resort in general. I would easily recommend this resort to anyone. For the price the resort is absolutely great, the beach is perfect and don't be afraid to upgrade a little - well worth it!

The property need a make over room are old bathroom needs to be clean service is horrible didn’t like it at all the pools area is nice so is the beach the food is the same everyday beside the sun and beach is not recomendable

It’s hard to pick a resort when you read all the negative reviews, so I looked at 10 reviews good and bad and made my decision. This was our second time in Punta Cana and loved this property. Staff was extremely friendly, food was decent, rooms were clean and always had hot water, view from the room was awesome! The hotel is not huge which is what we wanted and the pools were not that crowded. The beach was magnificent and clean, as were the pools. The negative things I can say is where our room was located in building 3 floor 2 it above the buffet so it was very noisy starting early in the morning and later in the evening. Also, would've been nice to have a pool waiter but there was nothing wrong with having to get our own drinks. Will definitely be going back!

We go to Punta cana ever year and try different hotels. This is our favorite so far. The staff was so nice and friendly. The food had so many choices and was delicious.... definitely give this resort a thumbs up!

The views were spectacular; the room suited my needs, however would have liked shampoo included in bathroom. It was hard since there was no pharmacy onsite.

This property needs to be remodeled, the bathrooms of the rooms were not cleaned nor up to date, after asking multiple days to get a better room the only response I got was that they were full and couldn’t switch me. We got a total of like 6 6 rooms and all of the rooms were the same. For the price I payed Was expecting a room with better quality. The food from the buffet was also bad and you had to wait in a long line to get the better things that they were cooking. The food from the restaurants were better but you had to make a reservation for those. The only positive thing I’ve experienced was the beach. It has a beautiful, big beach. They are very clean around the property, because you don’t see cups all over the floor or dirty ness. I just wish they would carry that service to the rooms.

Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms need updating, but clean. Hotel charges $45 per week for WIFI (per device, no sharing) and you are allowed only one beach towel (per person, per day). The beach and pool areas are excellent. We were a party of 11 people and were able to make reservations in the restaurants without any issue. Would definitely go again.

4th visit! We arrived on December 19th and were greeted and treated like royalty! All of the staff here go so far above and beyond to make our vacation feel like home but a lot more relaxing and incredibly fun! The Animacion team work from morning til night seemingly tireless just to make sure our whole family is smiling and laughing. Jairol, mr. Russo, Jonathon, Raisina, and their supervisors Julio and Roberto are wonderful people whom we will not forget! The food in the Hacienda and Tokyo was very good as well as the Alcazar buffet. Everything has been plentiful and clean! Much appreciation goes to Olben De la Cruz, Freudy Marte, and Juan Moronta for filling each drink with a huge smile and a “salute” . I hope the changes made will be reversed so everyone can once again enjoy a cold drink without a lot of hassle. I look forward to returning to the Occidental Caribe soon
