Our stay was wonderful! So many things to do. It’s so beautiful. The staff is warm, friendly and very attentive, Super Dario, Fatima and Guillermina are the BEST. The whole resort is super, mega clean (5 ⭐️ on that). The only reason I didn’t give it all 5 stars is because the food was just 3 ok (The Japanese restaurant was 4.5) and our butler was absent for the most part. The rest was excellent!!!! 😁🍹☀️🇩🇴🏖🏝👙👨‍👩‍👧

Well I booked through Travelocity 5 days before the trip to stay at the majestic mirage after a 2 hour delay and a nice welcome from the manager I was informed they over booked and would be moved to the elegance. I did not pay for the elegance I paid for the mirage so I was not willing to move unless the room would be equal to the room I booked. The supervisor at the mirage was very rude and did not handle the situation well and not only that the hotel manager who greeted everyone never told us ( me and the 12 other people checking in) that we would be moved. The supervisor was very rude like she was being bothered that guest were upset and were not happy. The room they moved me to in the elegance was worse than what I paid for and when I called the front desk I was hung up on. Finally they gave me a decent room still not what I paid for. I also had a butler who only came by every day to ask me to change my review about my check in. When I asked him to bring things like a bottle of wine or help with our bags at check out he was very late with delivering services. When he seen us at checkout after we carried our bags across the huge resort to change the review for him, I told him no ! At no point did a manager come to our room ask us what to do to make the stay better. The steak house has the best food at the elegance but I mean waiting 2 hours for a meal you would hope it would be good ! We ate there twice both times two hours from sitting to an appetizer being placed.

The property was beautiful and clean; however, our room smelled so musty that even our clothes smelled. I asked for an air freshener; to no avail. I did not have confidence in the cleaning staff of our room as the toilet was dirty upon arrival and throughout our stay the tables were never wiped down, the cabana was never cleaned (3 empty cans remained next to the cabana from the time we arrived to the time we left, toiletries and towels were not replaced without us requesting specific items. Our room was very spacious but was not at all comfortable due to the smell and the feeling it wasn't clean. The sofa was dirty and had no pillows. Very disappointed in the room!! Check-in was very frustrating. We waited 30 mins to check in and then we were told to sit on the couch and wait. We waited almost 2 hours before asking what was going on. Instead of allowing us to get something to eat and explore the grounds and return later or give us our room # and a time we can enter the room we just sat there...no communication!! Terrible beginning to what was supposed to be a very relaxing vacation. When our butler finally approached us he took 4 parties together to their rooms (no personal attention). When we got into the room we were met with an awful smelling room that had 2 beds instead of the king size bed we had reserved. The butler gave us the impression we would end up with a worse room if we changed. That was the only time we saw our butler until check out when he wanted his tip.

The facility was nice and the beach was awesome. While you can find drinks everywhere, getting them back to the room can be challenging. If your butler is good the trip will be amazing, if not good luck. for example we had the roof top jacuzzi so our group came over to our room to hang out, unfortunately we struggled to beer or drinks to the room the first 2 nights. In addition we booked in the adult section, but were place in the family section. Other than that it was an awesome place to visit and would return in a second...

The resort was superb! I have absolutely no complaints. All the staff was outstanding and always showed a willingness to help. They made my birthday one to remember with the cake, the singing and the drinks. I will be back soon. The food was good as well.
