My first recommendation is absolutely do NOT take a room on the first floor. I was horrified by how many bugs were in the room that I couldn't even sit down in full fear. I am glad to know that the front desk was very accommodating and moved me to a room not at ground level. The bug issue was no longer a concern. Take note the resort is in a nature preserve and this is why the bugs were prominent at ground level. I didn't have much time to partake in any of the amenities at the resort but the place is so aesthetically pleasing. It is beautiful for sure. The rooms do seem a bit outdated and it seemed more like a small suite versus the expected resort type of room. It gave me a revamped apartment complex vibe. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I would try to stay here again, perhaps in position to utilize all the things the grounds have to offer (spa, eateries, pools, etc). But I literally only did homework and slept and then was gone all the rest of the day.
