I had a 12 hr layover in Phoenix after leaving Maine and switching planes twice. As I was due to arrive in Phoenix at 10pm and my third and final flight home wasn't until 10am the next day, I chose to book a hotel room because I knew I would be tired and needing a good night's sleep before my final leg home. I chose to book at Drury based on many positive customer reviews and because they offer an included hot happy hour dinner from 5:30-7:30pm. Though I arrived well after the happy hour was over, because I had called and asked; the hotel manager (think his name was Bill) had the staff stash my dinner for me in the kitchen ovens and when I arrived for check-in, the super amazing staff member, grabbed my food and I was able to enjoy a very hot and delicious meal of chicken tacos with all the trimmings in my room. My room was comfortable and clean. It was also great to have my choice of breakfast items eg: blueberry muffin, sausage biscuit or bagel and cream cheese the next morning. In fact, because there were so few people there, I was offered to take all 3 choices if I wanted to. Coffee was ready and available quite early and I went to the airport feeling refreshed, relaxed and cared for. Due to Covid, their normal airport shuttle service wasn't running but if you communicate with the hotel, they will reimburse you for the cab or uber ride you take there and back- the hotel will actually run out cash for the drivers! Drury really knows and practices customer service!
