The staff was so very friendly, yet I was not informed of the amenities upon arrival, I found out about the breakfast room the day I left. The hot water in my room did not work for 24 hours, but it worked fine 24 hrs later when maintenance arrived. The request for 2 towels was met with they're being washed. When I requested on the 3rd day I received 1 hand towel - all of them had seen better days, but they did the job. Lastly, the door to the patio does not work with the room key - the sun has altered the device. I locked myself out and thank goodness I had my cell phone to call the hotel so someone could come let me in. There is no public transportation in the area so a car is needed if you choose to lodge here. Otherwise there is a 15-20 minute walk into downtown.

This property is very shabby! Paint peeling off walls, waste basket in hall, presumably to catch water from some kind of leak. Beds borderline comfortable.

All staff were hospitable. Hotel parking area is small; but across the street there is more than sufficient parking.

Great location and rooms. Miss on the details.

The refrigerator didn't work, the toilet either ran or didn't work, and the sink leaked water. There was a problem with the door and the key cards wouldn't work. We kept having to get new cards. Even the bartender couldn't get his master card to work. They acted like we were doing something wrong and called us idiots. When I checked out there was soup on our bill and we never ordered food. The rooms are nice -- if you can get the door open. I loved the layout and the location, I just wish the experience had been more positive.

Nice motel close to a beach, park, & shopping.

Pros: $100 per night less than hotels further north. Near walking & bike paths.
Cons: Hot tubs at hotel need upgrading. Hotel needs to stress to parents that children need to be supervised - they were allowed to run wild & bother others
Location: Park across the street with direct access to beach. Walking/bike path to mid & north hotels, bars, shops, restaurants. Cuba's Cookin' was a good place
We arrived at a medical conference 4 days early & stayed here because it was less expensive. It was close to the airport (only heard planes during the day). It had a great buffet breakfast, including hot & cold foods, fruits, etc. The staff were friendly. The pool was wonderful - I was usually the only one in it & spent hours doing water aerobics. 2 hot tubs, too. Resident iguana pair were precious & harmless. The rooms had fridge and microwave & were very spacious. We were across the street from a paved park that was the center of island celebrations for their National Anthem & flag day. We had free music & musical competitions on a big stage & we were able to sample & buy "comida típica" through the weekend. We were close enough to walk on the path to the cruise ship shopping areas & found a pedestrian mall several blocks inland where there were other dancing competitions going on. The beach was across the street & it was one of the ones where the planes come in to land about 30 feet above you. There were a couple of restaurant -bars on it, too. You can walk to where there is bus service available to the north shore hotels & there is an old fashioned trolley in the ped mall area.

February Getaway

Talk of the Town because is small and quiet. The bar and grill served less than tasty cuisine and we found ourselves leaving the hotel for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was buffet but inconsistent. The bagels were hard and they often ran out of juice and eggs. Go early for best selection. The rooms were clean. The pool was a good size by is used by the public for swimming lessons in the afternoon. I would suggest this hotel if you are looking for a quiet place to stay away from the noice of the city and big hotels. Rent a car if you stay here.
