Confirmed my reservation via email with the hotel twice in the week proceeding my stay. On arrival I was told they did not have a room and were moving me to a nearby sister hotel, one i had stayed ast before and knew to be far inferior. After very heated discussions with 3 levels of management we were moved for 1 night then back to our original reserved hotel for the rest of our stay. This happened to another family we were vacationing with but they were unable to get them to honor any of their reservation. Sort of ruined our trip not staying in the same hotel. This was happening to many families around us. I find it completely unacceptable. They knocked $100 off the rate of my single night at the lesser hotel. So what! I highly recommend avoiding Villa Group.

Nice place but the staff was extra pushy trying .

Location: didn't like the location outside there were shacks with horses and a swamp, very nasty

Beautiful resort, wonderful staff,

Pros: Pristine property, staff -housekeepers, waiters, bellmen, very accommodating I missed that attention as soon as they loaded me into the taxi.
Cons: Management OVERSELLING! Desk backed up, repeatedly sent guest to sister hotel, I sure would have reserved sister hotel if I wanted to stay there
Location: On medrano beach, very small beach, I like the location near Walmart and Costco
This is a beautiful resort. The staff (not management) is wonderful, very friendly, very attentive, especially the bellmen! "Raul". El Patron restaurant was fabulous. Unfortunately, this resort is under poor management, meaning the manager made no attempt to resolve issue due to overselling the resort. This caused a problem for some of our guest attending our wedding. We brought 115 guest with no perks!!! Rocio the wedding coordinator was helpful but her hands were tied, unable to make any

Well rounded hotel

Pros: The staff was very helpful and everything was clean.
Cons: Lots of people "claimed" chairs by the pool as early as 7 am. Yet the chairs would remain vacant all day. There was a lack of seats because of this.
Location: Great location, ocean/beach were amazing. Only a short water taxi or car taxi to downtown.
The hotel was great, the staff is top of the line and were very helpful. I enjoyed every part of this hotel. the beach is great, however the activities vendors hound you all day on the beach, that was about the worst of it. Some were very rude, but Aquatica had great activities at a great price and were polite, and easy to work with. Don't use the vendors that say they are affiliated with the hotel, they are more expensive and become very agitated when you tell them no. As for the hotel, clean, nice heated pools which were good for early morning through late evening activities even in January. Will be going back soon.

Nickel and Dimed

Pros: The week was relaxing overall and we liked the location as it was a 5 minute cab ride to downtown. Note it is a long walk to downtown from the hotel.
Cons: If people say no to the timeshare that should end the sales pitch. The wireless internet is $10day but didn't work most of the time we tried to use it
Location: Medono beach is nice but is packed with men selling hats scarfs and jewelry.
My wife and I stayed at the Villa Del Arco from August 6 August 13th. Beware #1. The pictures on Travelocity are very deceiving. If an ocean view is important to you, know this before you book your room. They show a clear unobstructed ocean view in most photos and it clearly says "room with ocean view" below the photo of the one BR villa. In reality these are photos from the penthouse suites not one BR villas. Regular travelers do not have access to the penthouse suites, you must be a member owner. After you book your room there a disclosure that your room may not have ocean views. When we arrived the front desk told us that an "ocean view" one BR villa would cost an extra fee. So not to cause a scene on the first day of our vacation we paid the extra money but feel we paid again for what we already paid for up front. The hotel has refused to reimburse the extra charge. Beware 2. This is a timeshare property, and the sales pitches never stop. If you want to book an excursion with concierge you will get high pressure sales pitches to listen to the sales talk that is supposed to last 90 minutes. We found out that they can last as much as 4 hours. Not worth it in our opinion to spend half a day of our vacation just to get a 15%off coupon for your dining etc. Beware 3. The pool fills up quickly in the mornings. The best chairs in front of the beach seem to be reserved for gold members that have listened to the time share talk. Beware #4. Food choices are limited and $$$

It's always nice to have feedback of any sort, and we appreciate it. We've checked the photo questioned by the reviewer and it is, of course, of a one-bedroom ocean view unit. However, as the reviewer accurately infers, the category of room sold on this and other sites is Run of the House.

I absolutely love this resort -- infact, I purchased a time share just this past May. The all-inclussive option is great if you have a good appetite or have children! The pools are amazing and the staff extremely friendly.

Nice Hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Make it more clean. Get rid of stained towels and blankets for God's sake. For the money this hotel charges, guests should be seeing stained stuff!
Location: The beach is great. Very convenient to do water activities. 7 minutes taxi ride to downtown and 5 minutes away from Walmart.
This hotel is in a good location as far as water activities are concerned. This was our second time staying here but probably last. This time the hotel seems a bit dirty. The blankets and towels were stained - we found several bugs on our bed (in both rooms) and also the room was infested by ants. The staff had to come to our room on a daily base to spray for ants.

Great resort on the Beach

Cons: Restaurants
Loved our time at Villa Del Arco. Top notch resort on the beach ( Medano). The restaurants are ok... We like to take a cab into town to eat at one of their many restaurants . It's safe.... Will go back

... indifferent, I really wanted to love it

I will say that overall the hotel is beautiful, better than a lot of hotels. Compared to the other two Villas, Villa del Arco is my favorite. But this is why I give it 1 star: At first glance, its gorgeous, but for this trip it was the little things that added up. I had a stain on the cover of my blanket, the paint in the corner of the shower was peeling, and I was caught off guard by the blunt nature of the concierge telling us the Airport Taxi guy who tried to sell us on tours, was scamming us, apparently its a HUGE problem there. But the kicker, and what I could have cared less for, was the aggressive nature of the Time Share sales team (or as they called it, they well an "Experience"). Charming as they were, they wasted 7hrs of our day, after saying no multiple times, then telling us American's have a fear mentality, then placing us in the back office saying we needed to take a survey, but sending in two more sales people - I will say I learned my lesson. After a strenuous day, we tried to shake it off and just enjoy what little time we had left. Location - Perfect distance away from the marina, very nice beach that's swim-able, few blocks away from Costco and about a 16$ shuttle ride away from the airport.  The Paddle boarding lesson - 5 mins on the beach and then they said, "ok have fun". Never having done it, I gave it my best effort, tried to master it in a little over an hour but the water was rocky. In all, I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the lessons or the rental. I ended up losing my Oakley's from falling so many times. I am glad at least the boat taxi's had a good laugh and enjoyed it.  Restaurants - I loved the location and the relaxed nature. But be aware this hotel has a NO CASH policy, which I was unaware of until check out. Though, they were happy to point out with a smug face that it is stated on the paperwork they handed us at check-in. They also mentioned it was up to the wait staff to inform the guests and someone would probably get fired for that error. Honestly, it should have been mentioned and highlighted when we checked-in to avoid that issue; instead we had to deal with at check-out.  Staff - As long as you read all the paperwork they give you, they are lovely. Such nice people in Cabo and they are really always willing to help you out. But they are very quick to place blame on who is responsible for an issue. Even if it was the customer. Though after I apologized for the misunderstanding I was treated better!  In all - As long as you avoid the gimmick of time shares, keep to yourself, enjoy the beach, charge everything to your room and not drinking the water - you can avoid ending up in the hospital when you get back home. Thanks Villa, don't think I'll be going back to Mexico. I'll stick with Costa Rica.
