All the staff were so friendly & helpful. We especially enjoyed Eduardo in The Grill, Jesus in the Italian restaurant & Paul’s assistance with our luggage at reception. We loved that we could go to the a la carte restaurants any & every night that we wished. The Barcelo resorts allow only 3 a la carte dinners but we were only able to have 2 dinners and had a difficult time getting them. We loved the sports bar where we could dance & the live rock band in the lobby. Everything was very clean. Buffet food was tasty but would have liked some more dinner items.

Upon arrival all I wanted to do was go to my room and freshen up after a day of traveling and I got held up in the lobby by a very persistent VIP Rep trying to talk me into a breakfast timeshare presentation. I politely refused several times and finally became annoyed and abruptly dismissed me. Then I had to wait 10min for someone who could show me where my room was. Suggestion: Provide a map of the resort for your guests!!! I asked for one but they did not have. My suite in the Altitude building was spacious but the furniture was old and worn. Slippers were provided but the first pair I tried were soaking wet inside. Luckily there was a second pair which were clean and dry. The towels were old and rough. My suite had a kitchenette but I soon discovered it was crawling with little ants. The second day I requested more coffee pods for the keurig in my room. After my second request I received a call back saying they ran out and I was told to call room service to get coffee. The room service booklet stated there would be a charge of 160 (pesos I assume) for each room service request. I could not get a clear answer if my all inclusive package included room service or not so I hope I don’t find a charge to my credit card because they ran out of coffee pods. Staying in the Altitude suite apparently included special amenities but they were never explained nor was literature provided. The resort staff were friendly but I found I had to search them out.

property was not user friendly, too spread out. There was a smell of sewer around the surf grill, very unpleasant in the evenings.

The resort was nice and I really liked that there's a separate area for adults. The food at the resort was not good at all. We contemplated leaving the resort to eat elsewhere but instead ended up eating at the pool bar because they had semi decent food. I wouldnt recommend any of the restaurants here the food isn't good and the service is beyond SLOW!

The front desk personnel were not about customer service we had multiple misunderstandings which made it very inconvenient and annoying. I had to get my vacation club customer care team to come help me resolve my problem which is very unacceptable! Luckily my resources were able to help me out, if not it would have been very upsetting.

El lugar es muy bonito y aunque estaba al 98% de cupo los meseros no tardaban más de 20 minutos es servirte. La comida muy variada y disponible 24hrs. Los cafés muy ricos. Ambiente muy agradable
