Moncton, New Brunswick is a city in the very heart of Canada's Maritime Provinces and the major transportation hub of the region. Flights to Moncton land at Greater Moncton International Airport (YQM), giving you easy access to some of the major tourist attractions in the city and region around it. These include such cool attractions as the mysterious Magnetic Hill, which "pulls" cars back uphill. With an extensive network of hiking and biking trails, plus cross-country ski trails, Moncton vacation packages are also a good choice for visitors who enjoy the great outdoors.

Transportation from YQM

Greater Moncton Airport is 6 miles from downtown Moncton, and only 4 miles from the francophone city of Dieppe, which is also worth visiting for its historic charm and huge shopping center. If you want to use hotels in Moncton as a base for exploring the wider Maritime Provinces, the easiest option is a car rental from one of six on-site companies at the airport. Rental desks are inside the terminal on the main level. An hour's drive from the airport gets you to either Fundy or Kouchibouguac national parks. The dramatically scenic Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy are only 30 minutes away.

Alternatively, buy tickets in advance for the Maritime Bus, a reservation-based service that connects the airport with downtown Moncton, Dieppe, and cities throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Several hotels close to the airport offer shuttle services for their guests. Call the hotel to make arrangements, then head to the designated pick-up area outside the terminal. Passengers coming off Moncton flights can also pick up taxis just outside the terminal building, or pre-arrange for limousine service through a number of local companies.

What is the best day to buy a plane ticket?

Airfares offered on Fridays tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2019. Purchasing your airfares on a Monday or Tuesday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Saturday. Our data shows, the start of the weekend has the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals on a weekend.

What are the cheapest days to fly?

Frequent travellers may already know this, but earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Tuesday are the cheapest of the week. Since weekend flights tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise which is why on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2019 were most expensive for Saturday departures.

How far in advance can you book a flight?

Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2019 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 1-2 weeks prior to their travel dates.

How can I save money on airline tickets?

Flight Review

Dec 17, 2019

YOW should be the standard service for AC (YUL and YYZ take note). Everyone was delightful at YOW and on board.

The Toronto airport is unbelievably confusing. Again and again on my trajectory through the airport, there was inadequate signage so I didn't know what direction to go, and no staff available to ask questions of. Plus I was directed to make my customs declaration twice, wasting precious time between flights.

You need more food options for individuals with dietary restrictions not only on the plane but in the terminal.

I found the staff very happy, smilling all the time and looks like they loved their job.
