How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Banff

Your adventure to Banff starts as soon as you've satisfied all the security checks. We've summarized a few useful tips to ensure you get through quickly:

  • Be sure you know the whereabouts of your boarding pass and travel ID. You don't want to hold up the line when you're asked to produce them.
  • Keep in mind that metal belt buckles can set off the body scanner's alarms. If you have one on, you may be asked to step back and take it off before continuing.
  • Everyday electronics such as laptops, phones and cameras need to be put through the X-ray machine separately. Be sure they're easily accessible.
  • When you approach the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to put all liquids, gels and creams in a separate tray for scanning. Make sure they're all in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (161 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Give some thought to the type of footwear you want to fly in. Slippers are awesome because they're a piece of cake to take off for the airport security checks. Try wearing some on your next flight!
  • Razors and knives are prohibited from entering the aircraft. Tuck them away in your checked luggage to avoid losing them at the airport security checkpoint.
