"I loved everything - except they did not have elevators. The climb isn’t too bad until you make your way to the 4th floor! Would definitely return though. "

"reception upon our arrival was very poor. first they claimed we did not have a reservation. then they claimed it was for three people in one room. I showed my confimation and payment for 2 ocean view rooms. After much comotion, they agreed they made a mistake and would fix it the next day. I insisted they we needed 2 rooms today. My grandson ended up on another floor that night and the next evening we were able to get him transferred to the same floor. At checkout I had requested a taxi to take us to the airport at 4:30am. They said no problem. In the morning, I went down to check out and was told they were sorry but they had reserved it for 5:30am. It was endless trouble."

"We stayed at the Butterfly after coming off of our cruise. Though we did not spend the night (waiting for our flight) our room was very nice. The bathrooms were nicely upgraded and the room was very spacious and clean. I will definitely plan an extended stay at the Butterfly! The gentleman at the front desk was so accommodating. He upgraded our room and arranged a taxi for us when we needed to leave for the airport. The fish tacos at the beachfront restaurant were delicious!! The only suggestions that I would make is to put more water in the 3 hot tubs. They were a bit shallow. Also, a few more umbrellas would be helpful. The sun can be quite hot. Thank you Butterfly Hotel for a wonderful visit!"

"Antiquated. Tub leaked. Toilet had issues. No where to plug hair tool close to mirror. Servers not so friendly. Friendliest folks were the housekeeping staff. Beach not nearly as deep as picture...very short. Chose this because owned by Marriott....this is definitely not Marriott quality. Overall...just disappointed...expected better."

"My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. First off, the staff as a whole was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were helpful in everything that we asked, including allowing late check in and early check out based on our flights. Here’s a detailed review: Accommodations - the hotel is a small one, only 24 rooms on 4 floors and there are only stairs, no elevators. The hotel is on a busy street so unfortunately you can hear traffic noise even when the door is closed. The room itself was very clean and there is housekeeping daily. All rooms have an incredible ocean view and a balcony overlooking the beach. This was one of the main highlights. The bathroom left more to be desired. The later at night you tried to use the shower, the less likely you would be to get any hot water. Also the shower door opens towards the shower head which didn’t make sense. The other side is just completely open, making the showers even colder. There is a split level AC unit in the room that kept the room very cool. Service - again one of the highlights of the trip. From the front desk to the wait staff to the bartenders and the friendly security man, everyone was great and helpful and had a smile on their face. No complaints at all for this area. Food - considering how small the hotel is, the lack of food options makes sense. There are 3 meals offered in the all inclusive package and all are sit down meals. Many duplicate meal options as well. Ran out of room but hope this helps!"

"The customer service was wonderful. We have stayed at other places in Barbados with beautiful properties that were marred by the awful service from staff. We were immediately pleased with the welcome and service received at Sugar Bay. We will definitely stay there again."
