Three large pools and 'lazy river' feature let everyone find the kind of pool they enjoy...quiet, sports, swim up bar, kids etc

Surprisingly DISSAPOINTED

Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet
I recently returned from the Grand Sirenis where I went with my family. I found the hotel and grounds clean and well maintained, the food better than average. The grounds were being worked on constantly and all staff were friendly and there was no issues with bugs. We saw many iguanas and other wildlife while at the resort which the children loved. The resort is very big and walking is unavoidable. Shuttle service is offered on the resort, however, by the time the shuttle comes by, you would have made the ten to fifteen minute walk to wherever you were going. With two small children we would have made use of the service, however on at least 3 occasions the shuttle never came even though we waited 20 min. I don't mind walking, but withsmaller children, you may find yourself walking 20 min to get something you forgot in your room. So be prepared to walk about 2 hrs a day while at the resort. (25 min walk to the gym if you don't take the shuttle). On the other hand, the grounds are excellent for long evening walks for couples. The beach area is rocky, shoes a must. There is lots of coral to see right off the beach for snorkeling but don't expect to make use of the free snorkeling equipment. It seems they only have about 10 sets for the hotel, unless of course you pay for the tour. This goes same for pool and beach chairs, unless you are there at 8 am, you are not getting a chair, seems all the chairs are on the Premium Travellers side which was at least twice as large with a quarter of the guests. Drinks at the resort were ok. don't expect to get same tasting drinks from on ebar to the next as each bar made the same drinks noticeably diffrent, and beer was flat most of the time with the exception of the lobby bar. There was not enough staff, I found the wait for most things longer than most resorts I've been to and this is the only resort where I have not received a drink at all, on a number of occasions and this happaned to others as well. The bartenders and servers simply forgot, possibly from being overworked. It seemed that all service staff was running all the time, never had time to relax and strike up a conversation. Since the resort is so big, and all points of interest are far from one another, it was difficult to take advantage of the activities such as between athe pool and the beach. By the time we did one activity at the pool and got the kids together and made it to the other activity...we missed it, finally we just set ourselves in one spot. Also, don't waste your money on the La Mirage upgrade. We got it, it was no different from those that didn't get it and all i got was the run around from the transat and consierge when I asked for the bottle of tequila that was supposed to come with the booking. Never did get it in the end. Internet is not free, you have to pay $40 per week per device or $4 for half hour. Don't get caught or you may get a surprise at checkout. If you do go book your restaurants before you unpack. I recommend the Bayou, the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants. However, even though the resort was clean and food was good, and came recommended, this is the first resort I would not go to again.

The beach and adjoining bay were teaming with fish and underwater life. Snorkeling was excellent! We saw something new every day. The buffet was very good with plenty of variety. The Japanese restaurant stood out from the rest. Every night there was a different performance at the theater pavilion, and we were well entertained. After 10 days we felt a connection with the performers. However, there is a bat problem high in the roof area, where there is a confluence of beams. Anyone sitting under these areas is subject to a showering of nuts and chewed bat food, as well as, yes, bat poop and pee. We spoke to the theater manager about it and he assured us that a resolution is in the works. However, the next night there was no change in the seating arrangement that would prevent guests from sitting in the areas. Worse, a mother and her baby stood in the area for 15 minutes with no advisement about the problem. Not sure if these people care. It was a downer for us, but otherwise, I guess we would return. Rooms and cleanliness were very good, no complaints.

Need newer mattresses. More areas with mirrors & outlets in the room. Thankful for the huts, umbrellas, chairs, hammocks & beach equipment available. We enjoyed the live entertainment that was provided nightly, various restaurants and coffee shop. We enjoyed the fresh fruit offered daily.

Do not go, AC doesn't work. If it rains you have to walk in it, the golf carts are not allowed to give you a ride. I will never return

Dear Guest, First of all, pending an extraordinary day, I send a cordial greeting and receive our full thanks for sending us this review. All the comments reflected in it, will be sent to the corresponding areas in order to improve the mentioned aspects. For Hotel Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa, the main objective is the total satisfaction of our guests and in their comments, and unfortunately, we can appreciate that this objective was not achieved. Please accept my most sincere apologies for the inconvenience you suffered during your stay, and I am very sorry that we have not been able to exceed your expectations. All your comments are valuable to detect our areas of opportunity. In reference to the comments with the car service to move within the complex, I would like to tell you about the operation of the same; we have a car for the transportation of guests to your room in the check-in process, and at the end of your stay, at check-out for the collection of luggage to the reception. Similarly, it is important to emphasize that we have transportation within the complex, where the end of the route is to the Spa; the collection time is every 20 minutes for the complex; the transportation of that car is Hotel-Spa, Spa-Hotel passing through common areas and makes the tours as well mentioned, every 20 minutes. We hope that despite of this situation you afford us the opportunity to serve you again and demonstrate you how wonderful a stay at the Grand Sirenis can truly be. Finally, I hope that the good moments lived in the hotel can be stronger than the bad ones, and have the opportunity to exceed your expectations in a future. Kind Regards, Monica Garcia Assistant Manager

Beautiful resort. Rooms were very clean and nice, and we had a great view of the ocean. Staff were all great. Food was one of the best for all of the all inclusive resorts we've been to. Only downside is that it is far from the airport. Takes an hour plus to get there.

property was basic. Not enough décor of the culture on the resort. Everything was about making money. The service at the bars and restaurants was very slow.Only if you tipped the bar tenders would you get better service. This is not typical in an all inclusive resort. The food was never at the correct temperature. The Beach was very dirty and smelled terrible. Would not recommend this resort. The Sirenes in Punta Cana is better resort

First of all, we are so grateful that you took your time to write us your opinion. We really appreciate your detailed feedback, which helped us identify specifically the areas of opportunity encountered during your stay. For the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa Hotel, our main objective is to achieve the total satisfaction of our guests, with the highest quality standards. I have read your comments and before sending you an answer about what you mentioned in your review, I send my sincere apologies for the bad impression you had regarding the hotel and we regret not having been able to exceed your expectations. In Sirenis, our staff are the most valuable resource we have. Therefore, we train them to ensure they are comfortable and happy with their duties, what makes them able to provide the best service to our guests from which we are constantly congratulated. It is true as well that sometimes, due to the turnover in this industry, some of them are not as experienced as others but we like to give them the opportunity to grow up professionally. I apologize if at some moment they had any inconvenience with the service they received. I reiterate my thanks for this review, and I really hope to see you again very soon for having another amazing experience at the resort in company of your loved ones. I liked everything about this resort from the beautifully rustic and natural environment to the kids area and restaurants. The gorgeous walking paths through the jungle with all kinds of animal life was spectacular. We will definitely be returning.
